Deen Lock by ReelMoney

Last updated: June 4, 2026

1. Introduction

Deen Lock ("the App") is operated by ReelMoney ("we", "us", "our"), based in India. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. Our guiding principle is simple: Deen Lock runs on your device and we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers.

By using the App, you agree to this policy and to the policies of the limited third-party services described in Section 4.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

Deen Lock stores the following information locally in encrypted on-device storage (MMKV). It never leaves your phone:

  • Name (if you entered one during onboarding) — used to personalize prompts inside the app
  • Salah schedule — the times of day you've configured for locks, including the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha)
  • Approximate coordinates (only if you grant the optional coarse location permission) — captured one time when you enable location-based times, and stored locally so the App can recompute your salah times each day. We do not continuously track your location.
  • Locked apps selection — on Android, the package names of the apps you chose to lock; on iOS, an opaque Screen Time selection token that does not reveal which apps you picked (Apple never shares their names or identities with the App)
  • Salah history — the journal of completed prayers, streak counts, and mood selections you record during the ritual
  • Preferences — your chosen language, onboarding answers, calculation method, and other in-app settings

When you uninstall Deen Lock, all of this data is removed with the app.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not read the content of any app you open
  • We do not track which apps you use outside of Deen Lock
  • We do not collect device identifiers, contacts, messages, microphone, or camera data, and we never read or browse your photo library (on iOS the App can save a card you choose to share to your photos, but cannot see what is already there)
  • We do not request precise GPS location, continuously track your location, or transmit any coordinates off the device — see Section 5 for how the optional coarse location permission is used
  • We do not send analytics, crash reports, telemetry, or marketing identifiers
  • We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the App

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses a small number of third-party services. Each is listed below with its purpose and a link to its own privacy policy.

  • RevenueCat: Manages your subscription or lifetime purchase. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your store receipt to verify purchase status. We never receive your payment details. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Play Billing (Android): Processes the actual payment when you subscribe or buy the lifetime unlock. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store and In-App Purchases / StoreKit (iOS): Processes the payment and validates your purchase receipt when you subscribe or buy the lifetime unlock. We never receive your payment details. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. App Permissions and Why They Are Required

Deen Lock asks for the permissions below. Each is used only for the stated purpose and never for tracking. The exact permissions depend on your platform.

Android

  • Accessibility Service — Used only to detect which app is currently in the foreground so the salah lock can appear at the right moment. The App does not read screen content, type for you, or use Accessibility for any other purpose.
  • Display over other apps — Used only to paint the salah lock screen above a locked app.
  • Schedule exact alarms — Used to fire your salah lock precisely at the time you scheduled.
  • Receive boot completed — Used to re-arm your salah alarms after the device restarts. The App reads nothing else at boot.
  • Foreground service (special use) — A low-priority background service that keeps Deen Lock responsive at lock time. It performs no other work.
  • Post notifications — Used to remind you a salah time is approaching. Optional.
  • Query all packages — Required so the in-app picker can list installed apps for you to lock. The list never leaves your device.
  • Approximate location (coarse) — Optional. We request only the coarse (city-level) location permission, never precise GPS. If granted, your approximate coordinates are read once at the moment you enable location-based times, then stored locally on your device so the App can recompute your five daily salah times (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) each day using standard astronomical formulas. We do not poll your location in the background or watch you move. The stored coordinates are never transmitted off the device, and you can clear them at any time by switching to manual entry or by uninstalling the App. If you deny the permission, the App falls back to manual entry of each salah time.

iOS

  • Screen Time (Family Controls and Device Activity) — Used to lock the apps you choose at salah times. Apple's Screen Time framework gives the App an opaque selection; the App never learns which apps you picked, never reads their content, and your selection stays on your device. The App cannot see or list your installed apps.
  • Location (While Using, approximate) — Optional. Read once when you enable location-based times, then stored locally to recompute your five daily salah times each day. Never tracked in the background or transmitted off the device.
  • Notifications — Optional. Local reminders that a salah time has arrived and the "Recite now" prompt from the lock. These are scheduled on your device; we send no server push notifications.
  • Photo Library (add only) — Used only when you choose to save a dua or dhikr card you are sharing. The App writes that single image to your photos and never reads, browses, or collects anything from your photo library.

6. AI and Machine Learning

Deen Lock does not use AI to generate content, transcribe audio, recognize images, or analyze your behavior. The Quran ayahs, duas, and reflections shipped with the App are curated and bundled with the app binary.

7. Data Storage and Security

Because data never leaves your device, security depends on the lock screen and disk encryption of your phone. On both Android and iOS the App uses MMKV encrypted on-device storage for sensitive fields. On iOS, the App and its Screen Time extensions share a small amount of data, such as your locked-apps selection token, language, and unlock state, through a private App Group container that stays on your device. The App does not operate any servers that hold your personal data.

8. Children's Privacy

Deen Lock is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will help you remove it.

9. Your Rights and Controls

  • Delete all data: Uninstall the App. All on-device data is removed.
  • Manage subscription: On Android, through Google Play → Subscriptions. On iOS, through Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Restore purchases: Tap "Restore purchases" on the paywall after reinstalling.
  • Revoke permissions: On Android, Settings → Apps → Deen Lock → Permissions / Accessibility / Display over other apps / Location (approximate). On iOS, Settings → Screen Time, and Settings → Deen Lock for Location, Notifications, and Photos. If you revoke the approximate location permission, the App will switch to manual salah time entry.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
